SURFERA_DEF project will enable CIDETEC Surface Engineering to advance high fire-resistance materials

The Cervera Network project will also develop low-observability surfaces

CIDETEC Surface Engineering is participating in a new project within the Cervera Network of Excellence, SURFERA_DEF, which held its kick-off meeting on 3 March at AIN (Association of Navarre Industry). Funded by CDTI, SURFERA_DEF forms part of the Industrial and Technological Plan for Security and Defence within the priority area of Advanced Materials.

In addition to AIN and CIDETEC Surface Engineering, the consortium includes the participation of TEKNIKER, IDONIAL, CTME and AIMEN. This is the consortium’s third project within the framework of the Cervera Networks of Excellence, consolidating its position as a benchmark in Surface Technologies and the development of new materials.

The SURFERA_DEF project sets technical objectives focused on the development of materials and surface treatments capable of operating under extreme temperature conditions, with high fire resistance, as well as on the development of low-observability surfaces for static and dynamic camouflage. The project will also enable the consortium to acquire new capabilities in technologies, testing methods and validation procedures, aimed at both the Security and Defence field and the civil sector.
